The month of November focused on literature: Czech Center New York prepared its traditional European Literature Night 2022 - a joint project of Czech Centres and EUNIC; this year's edition took place in the Ukrainian Institute of America. Bianca Bellová, Czech writer and translator, represented the Republic among other European writers. She visited the US within her North American tour, launching the English edition of her novel The Lake, which received the Magnesia Litera Award for the best book of the year in 2017. Another writer who presented in the Czech Center this month, was Markéta Pilátová, who presented her new book With Baťa in the Jungle.
The evening with Bianca Bellová was moderated by Alex Zucker, who translated the novel The Lake into English. They discussed with Bianca various aspects of her book. The evening featured also the musician and husband of Bianca Bellová, Adrian T. Bell.
