Can there still be an artist exchange and collaboration between Europe and America in times of the stringent travel restrictions of today? Find out and join us in following the artists from the new Online Artist Residency, UN/MUTE – 10002 co-organized by the Czech Center New York that is happening right now in which 10 European-American teams collaborate on original art projects. Czech artist Marie Lukáčová from Prague works with New York-based Emily Shanahan in a team titled Stream. Together they discuss inspirations from the pandemic while working on their collaborative project.
In the UnMute project, the Czech Center New York partners together with other European Cultural Institutes in New York and the Undercurrent Gallery in DUMBO in Brooklyn. The Czech participation is organized in partnership and with the financial support of the Jindřich Chalupecký Society and the Hope Recycling Station.

Week 8: Emily and Marie hold their first Show-and-Tell of digital works they are currently working on and discuss these as visuals to their domestic audio recordings.
Week 7: Team Ram, Stream, Branch, Cloud and Key share their focus of systemic oppression, polarities, prosthetics, domestic spaces, and invisibility.
Week 6: Emily and Marie begin a back and forth sharing of recorded sounds from their homes.
Week 5: Emily and Marie discuss inspirations from the pandemic for their audio project.
Week 4: Emily and Marie watch video and audio works, sparking a conversation about gender in technological innovation.
Week 3: Emily and Maire discuss video practice and their ideas on human engagement with nature.
Week 2: Emily and Marie meet for the first time and share the themes and mediums of their practice.
Week 1: Emily shares a five-minute selfie of her life outside of her immediate art practice.
