Join us on Monday April 19th at the Czech Center New York Instagram to follow the story and work of two collaborating multimedia artists, Marie Lukáčová from Prague and Emily Shanahan from New York City that will be presenting their current developing project and responding to questions in one day Instagram Takeover on @czechcenter.

Marie and Emily work together on series of audio and video collages that reflect their common interest in socio-political themes influenced by the experience of the pandemic. Their collaborative team is named Stream and is part of the Online Artist Residency UN/MUTE – 10002 that promotes active collaboration international exchange between European and American artists in a time when travel is impossible.

Czech Artists Worldwide Instagram Series offers a unique insight into the work and life of contemporary Czech artists working internationally. The participating artists take over the Czech Centre’s Instagram for a day to present their work, life, and last but not least their relationship to both the Czech Republic and the other country where they live, create or perform. The aim of the project is to map contemporary Czech art abroad and to present the artists to both Czech and local audiences.
The project is a joint effort of 12 Czech Centres across 3 continents. You can follow the series using the hashtag #CzechArtistsWorldwide
