Last Wednesday, renowned Czech poet Petr Hruška, together with other poets from New York City gathered in the Czech Center New York. The event, organized by the Czech Literary Center, is part of Petr Hruška's US tour, during which he presents "Everything Indicates", the new collection of English translations of his poems, chosen and translated by Harvard professor of Czech studies Jonathan Bolton.
The collection of poems of the probably most important Czech poet of the present was published by a Scottish publishing house Blue Diode Press, owned and founded by the Scottish poet Rob A. Mackenzie, who also read his poems during the evening. They were joined by three other New York-based poets, Jeffrey McDaniel, Rosebud Ben-Oni and Ilya Kaminsky, whose poems have also been translated into Czech. The evening was hosted by Jan Zikmund and Rob A. Mackenzie, with Yvetta Ellerová performing a musical version of Petr Hruška's poems.
