The concert of Czech mezzosoprano Ester Pavlů was one of the top events organized by Czech Center New York celebrating the 80th anniversary of the arrival of Bohuslav Martinů in New York. The program included also works of Czech composers Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček. The evening featured Vladimír Chmelo, Slovak opera singer and accompanying Czech singer and piano player Ahmad Hedar. New York based musicologist, professor Michael Beckerman received Gratias Agit Award from the representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for his long-standing support of the Czech culture, Czech music and the Czech composers in the US.
