Markéta is participating in the Requiem event, a multi-media show by Czech artists in Czech Centre New York. Her project in virtual reality is a 360-video record from the Neos VR program. It is called Transition of the Soul. It is Markéta’s interpretation of the soul moving through the fractal tunnel to the light and joining the other universe.
Markéta Gebrian said: “In my life, I had a rare chance to experience such a colorful vision with beautiful fractals. I survived. I remember this vision. Nobody knows if we have a soul and what happens after we die. I believe that souls exist, and life continues somewhere in the universe and memories of our loved ones who passed away live with us in our minds.” In addition, Markéta created five collages as a memory of the 9/11 event.

Markéta Gebrian is a Prague-based digital artist and an architect of virtual reality spaces in the social platform, Neos VR. She studied architecture and art at the Technical University in Liberec, Czech Republic, and currently, she is continuing as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University in Prague. Markéta's international study and work experience include prominent architectural offices, such as NL Architects in Amsterdam, MADMA/MAXWAN Architects in Rotterdam, Jean Nouvel Ateliers in Paris, and Steven Ehrlich Architects in Los Angeles. Her digital artwork has been displayed in the DOX Center for Contemporary Art in Prague, as well as abroad in Basel, New York, Zürich, and Miami. In April 2021, after turbulent preparations and a lot of uncertainty, Markéta and her family departed for a study trip, visiting research as a Fulbright Scholar to the College of Design at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Writing her dissertation on "Artistic and Architectural Spaces Through Virtual Reality," Markéta spend so far five months in the U.S. designing 3D spaces in virtual reality in the Mixed Reality Lab of the Department of Art and Design.
