Valentýna Janů presents a new video inspired by nightlife and neo-noir. Its protagonist leaves the safety of home and moves through the nocturnal city with keys clenched in her fist. Live performances will accompany the screening.

Vojtěch Fröhlich explores Pioneer Works by climbing through its three-story architecture.

The evening is part of PAF New York 2026. This year’s theme, Bestiary, considers the moving image as a shifting field of hybrid forms. It asks how we classify images and how technologies and institutions shape both the images themselves and the ways we see them.

About the artists

Valentýna Janů works across film, installation, and performance, connecting personal narratives with questions of social expectations, gender, and everyday life. She received the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2021 and co-heads the Intermedia Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology. She was an artist-in-residence at Pioneer Works in 2024.

Vojtěch Fröhlich works with photography, video, installation, and live action. His performances use climbing and other physically demanding activities to investigate space and the limits of body and mind. He also develops Klub AVU, a project combining gastronomy, performance, and living sculpture. He was a finalist for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2015.

33 is an experimental music project founded in Berlin by Alexander Iezzi and Billy Bultheel. Its sound combines heavy electronics, industrial textures, and operatic voices. With Tripolar (2026), the original duo expanded to include vocalist and clarinetist Ivan Cheng and multi-instrumentalist Cem Dukkha. Their live shows bring concert, performance art, and installation together.
