Czech Center New York presents a concert of Prague's choir Cancioneta Praga. The concert will take place a few days before their performance in Carnegie Hall.

Cancioneta Praga is a choir, which was founded in 2010 by choirmaster Lukáš Jindřich. Members of the choir stem from various renowned choirs from Prague (Bambini di Praga, Radost Praha and others).
The repertoire of Cancioneta Praga includes not only old-time compositions but also music of the 20th century, as well as carols from around the world and the Czech Republic, a selection of Czech folk songs and folk songs from around the world and film music.
Apart from its own concerts Cancioneta Praga cooperates with notable Czech choirs, orchestras and musicians (e.g. PKF - Prague Philharmonia, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Musica Bohemica, Orchestra of the Czech Armed Forces, harp player Jana Boušková, guitar virtuoso Lubomír Brabec, conductors Marek Šedivý, Jan Kučera, Vojtěch Spurný, Jakub Martinec, famous Czech group Chinaski and singer Petr Bende). Cancioneta Praga has produced two CDs – Enchanting Christmas and The Gospel Train Is Coming.
During its period of existence in the musical field, Cancioneta Praga has won two international festivals. The choir brought home the "audience's most favourite choir award" and the trophy for absolute victory from Malgrat de Mar, Spain, in 2010. The same success was reached in 2012, when the choir became champion of the festival of contemporary choir music, Canti Veris Praga. The choir has been on several concert tours abroad (Germany 2011, 2014, 2018, Hungary 2015, Republic of South Africa 2016.
The patrons of the choir are Miroslava Němcová – the former head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, conductor Jakub Hrůša and harpist Jana Boušková.

Lenka Navrátilová studied piano and harpsichord at the conservatory in Teplice and choirmastering of choral church music at the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
She is a professor of piano accompanying at the Prague Conservatory and accompanist of the Prague Philharmonic Choir.
She performs at concerts with opera singers and choirs and she cooperates as a piano and harpsichord player with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, with the Opera of the Prague National Theatre, with the International music festival Prague Spring, with Kühn Mixed Choir, with the choir Cancioneta Praga and as harpsichordist with the baroque orchestra Camerata Nova and with Opera Mozart Prague.
During her career, she had the opportunity to work with world renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Sir Charles Mackeras, Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Jiří Bělohlávek.
Lukáš Jindřich (born 1984) comes from the singers of the Bambini di Praga choir in which he started to sing at the age of five. He graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University in Prague with a Master's Degree in Choir Conducting. In 1999 he began to closely cooperate with the School of Choir Singing adjoined to Bambini di Praga, where he also conducted recorder lessons. Since 2004 he was the second choirmaster of Bambini di Praga and the closest associate of PhDr. Blanka Kulínská.
He arranged many songs for the choir and recorders. He has recorded with the Children's Choir of the Czech Radio and he has succesfully taken part in concerts, where he conducted the Prague Philharmonia. With Bambini di Praga he took part in a concert tour of England (2006), Germany (2008, 2010) and South Korea (2006-2009). He is a founder of Cancioneta Praga, a women´s choir, which entered its first concert season in 2011.
In 2013 Lukáš Jindřich accepted to become a guest choirmaster of the Czech Boys Choir in Hradec Králové and since 2014 he worked for two years as a choirmaster of the Czech Radio Children´s Choir.
