Internships at Czech Center New York are designed for current students and recent graduates of Czech universities who would like to gain practical experience in cultural diplomacy and learn how a cultural institution operates abroad.
are interested in culture, communications, creative work, or event production
would like to gain experience in an international environment
are curious about how a cultural institution operates behind the scenes
enjoy writing, creating content, or working with visual materials
are comfortable with a varied workload and a changing pace
are independent, detail-oriented, and able to follow assignments through to completion
have a strong command of both Czech and English
would like to join a small team where you can see the direct results of your work
are prepared to participate actively during regular office hours and evening events
The internship is particularly well suited to students in the humanities, arts, communications, and other creative fields. Previous professional experience is less important than motivation, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Internships last a minimum of two months and a maximum of three months. Some flexibility in the exact dates may be possible within this timeframe.
This internship track is supervised by the PR Manager.
Responsibilities may include:
preparing and managing content for the website, social media, and newsletters
creating simple visual materials
photographing and filming events
working with communications platforms and tools
assisting with audience communications
providing hands-on support during events

assisting with the planning and coordination of cultural events
preparing written materials, research, and program documentation
communicating with partners, guests, and artists
providing administrative and organizational support for projects
assisting with on-site event production
This internship track involves working directly with the Center’s Director.
Responsibilities may include:
researching cultural projects and potential collaborations
preparing background materials for new initiatives
identifying potential partners and institutions in New York
supporting the Center’s program development
providing administrative support to the Director
assisting with the preparation of cultural events
