Youth Cimbalom Music of The Elementary art school Kyjov is going on its US tour in May. They will visit Niagara Falls, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York and perform concerts of traditional Moravian music.
The art school in Kyjov has been teaching music for over 70 years and its ensembles are annually placed at the top of folklore music competitions. In the history of the school, a large number of pupils have passed through its ranks and have later become personalities in their field. Among its graduates are, for example, violist Libor Meisl – a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra or violinist Marek Blaha – a member of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. The school's song repertoire focuses mainly on Kyjov region.
