Last Thursday, the Bennewitz Quartet, one of the top international chamber ensembles, performed an impressive program of music: including Schulhoff’s Five Pieces for String Quartet, Leoš Janáček’s String Quartet No. 2 “Intimate Letters” and Dvořák’s String Quartet in G major, Op. 106. The group, comprised of Jakub Fišer and Štěpán Ježek (violins), Jiří Pinkas (viola), and Štěpán Doležal (cello), received rounds of applause and praise from the packed house at the Bohemian National Hall. Commented by prof. Michael Beckerman. The quartet continued its tour to Washington, D. C.
