On Saturday, February 24, 2024, it will be two years since the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine. A number of events will commemorate this sad anniversary. The Ukrainian Institute of America will host the #UkraineStands Open House. Another event in New York City dedicated to Ukraine will be the "New York Freedom Gala for Ukraine“, a charity event supported by Mayor of New York Eric Adams.
The Ukrainian Institute of America will host the #UkraineStands Open House on February 24, 2024, marking ten years since the beginning of the war and two years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The afternoon event will pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate price for defending Ukraine's freedom, and to celebrate the creativity, courage, and dedication of Ukrainians in Ukraine and around the world, whose valiant fight to defend democracy, their homeland and their right to self-determination continues.
Starting at 12 pm, guests may enjoy a variety of exhibitions, film screenings, lectures and more. The afternoon will also offer discussions with prominent guest speakers. Further details are available on the UIA website.
Another event that will take place in NYC, is the "New York Freedom Gala for Ukraine“ and it will take place in the Bohemian National Hall also on February 24, 2024. This charity event supported by the Mayor of New York Eric Adams is organized by a NGO Heart & Valor Foundation with the support of the Consulate General of Ukraine and also the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York.

In Prague, several NGOs call on the Czech public to participate in the rally United for Ukraine on 24 February to mark the second anniversary of the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine. It is part of Day for Ukraine, and in addition to President Peter Pavel, speakers will include representatives from the organising organisations Šimon Pánek, Mikuláš Kroupa, Mariana Novotná Nachtigallová, and Bohdan Rajčinka. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised a video message supporting the demonstration.
