Czech Center New York organized evening dedicated to Karel Zeman. Two of his famous films were screened - Stolen Airship and Invention for Destruction. The evening featured the daughter of Karel Zeman, Ludmila Zemanová, and his granddaughter Linda Zeman Spaleny as special guests. The program was presented in collaboration with the Museum of Karel Zeman in Prague. Both films of the renowned filmmaker and animator were digitally remastered in 2022.
The screening was followed by a Q&A with the daughter, Ludmila, and his granddaughter Linda. Participants had a chance to learn more about the making of the films, about the Museum of Karel Zeman in Prague, and about books for children written by Ludmila.
Cynthia Allen, professor from the Graphic Arts department at New York University, said about the event: "What a magical evening! What wonderful films! Thank you Miroslav Konvalina for introducing me to Ludmila and Linda Zeman and all the other wonderful people! My students and friends were very thrilled and grateful."
