Czech Center New York organized a presentation and Q&A with Czech artists Anna Slama and Marek Delong, the recipients of Jindřich Chalupecký Award for 2020. The program was followed by an informal meetup and discussions with other artists outside the Bohemian National Hall.
Visual artists Anna Slama and Marek Delong introduced their work to the participants of the event. They presented some of their installations and showed several short videos and video clips they use to further develop their installations.
Slama and Delong aim at reacting to the stressful nature of the current times with their work. By the means of their installations, by using poetic language and references to the fairy tale realm, they want to create a soothing, and even a theraputic, effect on the visitors' emotions. They also use natural and renewable materials for their installations.
