Czech Center New York commemorated the 80th aniversary of the destruction of Lidice by the Nazis. The evening was dedicated to the trauma of the survivals and its passing over to the next generations. Jerri Zbiral, whose mother survived these events, made a documentary on this topic together with her husband Alan Teller. The film Shadow of Memory was screened and a discussion with the authors of the documentary and professor Blanche Wiesen Cook from John Jay College followed. The evening was concluded with music dedicated to Lidice perfomed by cellist Štěpán Filípek & pianist Katelyn Bouska.
Štěpán Filípek & Katelyn Bouska performed in Czech Center New York the following evening as well.
