First in-person event in over a year! To close out this year’s Czech That Film showcase, which was presented online, Czech Center NY hosted an outdoor screening of the short animated film “The Kite” and jazz performance by Karel Ruzicka Jr. The event took place on the rooftop of Bohemian National Hall and was by invitation only due to current capacity restrictions.
The event was presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York.
The short animated film The Kite (13 min, dir. Martin Smatana), which was presented in this year’s Czech That Film showcase, was chosen for our inaugural in-person event of 2021
As the sun was setting over Manhattan, our guests enjoyed a jazz performance by Czech saxophonist, composer, and music educator Karel Ruzicka Jr.
