Wheeler ‘Shadow Bands’ for String Trio
Beethoven String Trio in c minor, op 9 no 3
Musicians:
Qianwen Shen, violin

Liuh-Wen Ting explains the selection of “Tanec:”
“I chose the piece for our program not only because it is an appealing work for the listeners, but also that it was written during Krása’s stay at Terezín camp, where music served an important purpose of providing relief and salvation for the people who were suffering under the dire circumstances. Today, the whole world is going through a tough time due to the pandemic and at times like these, it is important to remind ourselves the importance of the arts, which can soothe our souls, elevate our spirit, and give meaning to our existence.”
