Nicholas Lowry of Swann Auction Galleries and Angelina Lippert, Executive Director and Curator of Poster House, will lead a spirited tour of Visit Czechoslovakia! The Story of Czech Travel Posters. With their signature wit and expertise, they will explore posters from the golden age of Czechoslovak design, when the newly established country was shaping its national identity and presenting itself to the world.
Bringing together traditional folk imagery and bold avant-garde design, these posters reveal how travel, culture, and visual communication helped create a modern image of Czechoslovakia.
Guests will enjoy three specialty Czech cocktails created by Don Spiro of the Green Fairy Society. Grab a drink and join us for a festive evening of posters, stories, and design.
Visit Czechoslovakia! The Story of Czech Travel Posters is presented in conjunction with Poster House’s exhibition From Monarchy to Modernity: Travel, Identity, & the Czechoslovak First Republic (1918–1938), on view from April 23 through November 1, 2026.
