Antonín Tomášek, Josef Tomšej, Jimena Mendoza, Josef Kocman, Rozalie Vlachová, Agáta Bourová, Helena Patelisová, and curator Kryštof Hejný are participating in the 60th NCECA conference in Detroit, one of the leading international gatherings dedicated to contemporary ceramics.
Their participation is facilitated by the Czech Center New York and is closely connected to the exhibition Kitchen Table Imagery, presented at the Czech Center Gallery.
Kitchen Table Imagery brings together artists from the Czech Republic, the United States, and Mexico, exploring ceramics as a medium situated between everyday function and artistic expression. Through material experimentation and diverse artistic approaches, the exhibition highlights the vitality of contemporary ceramics and its ability to reflect social and cultural contexts.
Curated by Kryštof Hejný, the exhibition serves as a platform for dialogue between emerging and established voices. The artists’ presence at NCECA extends this dialogue into an international context, connecting their work with broader conversations shaping the field today.
